The Steep Sand Dunes   Author: Elle

I froze, glaring down at the steep sand dunes. I looked at my mum. She froze too. “I can do it”, “I can do it!” I said again. So my brother handed me the board and off I went, first zooming down the 25 meter sand dunes But, Then all of a sudden, I came rolling off all the way down to the bottom. At the bottom with a couple of bruises I walked up the steep dunes, scurrying to the top.

The Moth Plant by Knox and Jakob

People used to plant the moth plant because moths ate their apples but they didn't know that moth plants were bad for the environment. So Jakob and I are working on getting rid of them soon. We will get rid of them in our free time and help other people that need help getting rid of them.

We have some photos right here for you if you want to see them. We took them with Alex (the caretaker),

Best Bits: Week 1

Oral Language
We all have stories to tell...but how can we capture and engage our audince so they want to listen to our stories?

We think the key ingredients are:
- Body Language
- Facial Expression
- Interesting details and descritpions that flow in order
- Eye contact
- Use expression in our voice, vary our volume

We had so much FUN sharing our exciting, scary and funny stories using the key ingredients listed above.

Mahitahi Games (Co operative Games)
Working together can be a challenge sometimes.  We discovered when you flex your positive thinking, courage, resilence and laughter...many challeneges don't seem so bad.

Swimming
This week we have 2 fun swims before lessons start next Tuesday.  The water was as warm as... (finish the sentence for your whanau).

Mindfulness
Taking time out to stop, relax and read.

Mahitahi Sculpture Making
We are busy designing our own bricks that will tell a story about who we are and something that is improtant to us.  Each brick will then be used to build a class sculpture.  Have we sparked your curiosity?  Your welcome to pop into class to see our MASTERPIECE.
